GESIPA®

1955

GESellschaft für Internationale PAtentverwertung mbH" in Frankfurt. The purpose of the company is initially registered as "the acquisition and commercial utilisation of inventions and novel production processes on a domestic and international level".

Shortly afterwards, the company applies for patents for a "method for the production of breakstem hollow rivet connections" and "manual pliers for the creation of blind rivet connections".

GESIPA®

1959

In 1959, GESIPA® presents its blind rivets and blind rivet processing tools at the Hannover Messe trade fair for the first time and the industry professionals are impressed. Production capacity in Frankfurt is gradually increased and the range of blind rivets and tools continues to grow, opening up an ever-growing number of potential applications. The fantastic response at the trade fair leads to the relatively new company developing at an impressive rate and the first international business relations are set up as a result.

GESIPA®

GESIPA Blindnietvertriebs Ges.m.b.H. in Austria is established in 1965 as the first international subsidiary. The site is strategically based in the capital city, Vienna. Even back then, "progress" was one of the main focuses of the relatively new company GESIPA Blindniettechnik GmbH:

"The company has made it its mission to continually improve and develop its products and to come up with ideas for innovative products that will be needed on tomorrow's markets."
(Special edition of the 'Freitags-Anzeiger' local newspaper for Mörfelden, Walldorf, Kelsterbach and Zeppelinheim, 29/11/1969)

GESIPA®

1971

GESIPA® production goes global. Two further production sites in the UK and Brazil increase both the capacity and product range.

Even at the very beginning, we considered quality to be one of the most important aspects of the production process.

GESIPA®

1975

GESIPA® celebrates its 20th anniversary.

By this point, the company has evolved to become an international enterprise with seven production and sales sites.

In 1975, the Walldorf production site has a total production and storage space of 9000 m² available. As a company, we were very proud of our perfectly optimised production workflow. When building the site, efficiency had been a number one priority at every stage – from raw material processing to shipping – and our sights were set firmly on the future.

In 1975, the first production site is opened in the USA. GESIPA® Fasteners USA in Trenton, New Jersey (around one hour away from New York) opens its doors and consequently opens up access to the American market.

GESIPA®

GESIPA®

1980

The company is devastated by a stroke of fate when the founder of GESIPA® Blindniettechnik GmbH, Dr Hans-Georg Biermann, dies suddenly at the young age of 51. From that point onwards, his wife, Ibeth Biermann, manages the company, injecting plenty of expertise, passion and care into it.

GESIPA®

1992

Roland Biermann takes over management of the company as the second generation.

The Group ups its international presence with success. The GESIPA® PolyGrip® multi-range rivet and the pioneering invention of the first battery-powered blind riveting tool mark further high points in the history of the company.

GESIPA®

1994

Upon acquiring the company Weber & Ochsenfeld in Siegen, GESIPA® gains a company with extensive expertise in the field of cold forming and formed parts. Owing to capacity constraints, W+O (the name of the company at the time) relocates to Olpe in 1995. Over the years, many positive synergies are forged between GESIPA® and W+O. The total production and storage space at W+O Niettechnik now spans a total of 5700 m². Since 2016, W+O has also been called GESIPA Blindniettechnik GmbH and it has a focus on solid riveting.
